A bit disappointing that you only open til 2.30 during peak season. Even more disappointing to find your door locked at 2.10. And two staff gawping back from the bar like a couple of Remploy specials.

We were passing and remembered how nice the food was last time so we stopped in for lunch. It did not disappoint, the food was lovely, with quite a choice on a Sunday, and it came out quickly.

Had a lovely meal with my friends which we ordered with the barman very polite as always. We have been in there a few times since moving to the area and have had no complaints with food or service. But this evening ended with a black cloud very big black cloud and spoilt the evening. The barmaid was very surly which we ignored as we were served by the barman. Unfortunately she brought our food to the table, no smile nothing just put it down and did not ask if we needed anything else to go with our meal. We let that go putting it down to the pub being busy . Unfortunately she collected our plates, the same rude attitude did not ask if we wanted anything else or was everything ok , Nothing!!!!!! We let that go too. Time to leave so went to the bar to pay she was checking stock in the cooling cabinets knowing that I was standing waiting to pay she carried on, more customers came in and stood at bar she carried on moving bottles still ignoring me and then eventually after keeping them waiting served them first . I had to say excuse me I would like to pay, with that she sorted the bill no apology for keeping me waiting . I did at this point ask if she had to train to be a bar lady she promptly said I had the wrong energy and I was talking down to her . So she took my payment and went back to totally ignoring me I have never met such a discourteous individual .

Rustic ambience, but really great food , friendly staff. Do not let the look of the decor put you off. Try the food before you judge. Will definitely be going back.

We tried to visit last night to order food at around 7.30pm, but we couldn't get in, there were two ladies sat at a table, and around 6 or 7 gents stood around the bar who all looked when we tried to open the door and watched us through the window, there was no-one behind the bar and no-one offered to show us in. We tried to see if there was any other access, but felt a bit embarrassed and confused and left. It no doubt doesn't deserve a low rating but I'm rating our experience of our 'visit'

A small busy pub with a nice vibe to the place. Also had a good selection of ales which seem to be kept very well. We also stayed for a meal. This was mixed bag. Let’s start with the good. The special they had on was very tasty slow cooked beef blade and the slow cooked pork belly was melt in the mouth. Unfortunately the steak was real disappointment. We Asked for medium but it came very well done and was chewy. Just a bad steak. The fish stew was nice but came out almost cold.

Four of us went on recommendation for evening meal. Not disappointed. Varied and good menu. Relaxed eating in busy bar area. Lots of locals. Beer was good too. Very happily return. Because I am picky I would have given 5 stars if the bar brass was polished and loos updated but all in all good value and pleasant experience. We spent about £30 per head including drink, mains for each and shared starters.

We came here for a pint on a Tuesday night and loved it so much we drove 45 minutes back for lunch the next day. Cozy, warm and welcoming. The food was GREAT. You’ll find the locals hanging out here and the bartenders are friendly and down to earth. My favorite spot on my tour around England!

Don’t judge a book by its cover. This remarkably plain looking pub is a centre of excellence for pub food and pub atmosphere, with a warm welcome and an amazingly varied menu of well cooked and well presented food (and excellent beer). The environment is traditional pub, but the food is well-better than that. Additionally on Thursdays and the weekend, there’s an extra pizza restaurant open out the back. I can’t recommend this place enough. Please don’t miss it if you’re in the Framlingham area.
